Requirements

The customer required a high-precision vision inspection system to inspect PCBs for soldering defects, missing or misaligned components, and assembly inconsistencies. The solution needed to operate at line speed, integrate with existing SMT lines, AOI stations, and MES systems, and generate actionable quality data for continuous improvement.

Manual inspection was inconsistent and operator-dependent, leading to undetected micro-defects and false rejections. Conventional AOI systems struggled with new board variants, component diversity, and lighting variations.
