Job Overview
A Business Development Executive in the power & Energy sector is responsible for generating new business opportunities, driving sales, managing client relationships, and expanding the organization’s footprint across utilities, power generation companies, transmission sector companies, EPC contractors, renewable energy firms, and government agencies.

- Experience: 4+ years of experience in power/energy, electrical equipment sales, or EPC business development preferred. Understanding of regulatory bodies: CEA, CERC, SERCs, MNRE, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Opportunity Identification
- Analyze trends in power generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy sectors
- Identify opportunities with utilities, DISCOMs, EPC contractors, and government bodies
- Track upcoming projects, tenders, policy changes, and competitor activities
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in thermal, hydro, solar, and wind projects
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and product or solution demonstrations
- Maintain long-term relationships with utilities, EPC firms, OEMs, and consultants
Tendering, Bidding & Proposal Development
- Monitor tenders from electricity boards, NTPC, NHPC, PGCIL, and renewable energy agencies
- Coordinate with technical teams to prepare techno-commercial proposals
- Ensure tender documentation complies with regulatory and technical requirements
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
- Collaborate with OEMs, technology providers, EPC contractors, and energy consultants
- Develop channel partnerships for power and energy sector solutions
- Identify joint venture opportunities for large-scale projects
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute sales strategies for the power and energy business vertical
- Negotiate commercial terms, close deals, and achieve assigned targets
- Maintain accurate CRM data, sales pipelines, and forecasting reports
Required Technical Skills
- Understanding of power generation: thermal, hydro, solar, and wind
- Knowledge of transmission & distribution systems, substations, switchgear, and SCADA
- Familiarity with government procurement and e-tendering portals
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and project documents
Business & Soft Skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Excellent relationship-building and networking ability within the power sector
- Analytical thinking and market research capability
