Job Overview
The Business Development Executive – Defense Sector will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing business opportunities with defense forces, government agencies, DPSUs, and strategic partners. The role focuses on defense procurements, tenders, offset programs, partnerships, and long-term contracts while ensuring compliance with defense regulations.
Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Defense Studies, Business Administration, or a related field
- MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify new business opportunities across land, naval, aerospace, electronics, and homeland security domains
- Analyze defense procurement plans, acquisition programs, and modernization initiatives
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with defense markets
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with Armed Forces, MoD, DPSUs, paramilitary forces, and DRDO
- Engage with decision-makers, procurement officials, and technical evaluation committees
- Coordinate customer meetings, demonstrations, trials, and technical presentations
Tendering, Bidding & Contracts
- Track and analyze RFI, RFP, and tender opportunities
- Coordinate with engineering, compliance, legal, and finance teams to prepare proposals
- Support pricing strategies, negotiations, and commercial evaluations
Defense Compliance & Policy
- Ensure compliance with DPP/DAP, export control laws, and security regulations
- Support offset obligations, indigenization initiatives, and Make in India programs
- Maintain confidentiality and classified information protocols
Partnerships & Strategic Alliances
- Identify and manage alliances with OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners
- Support joint ventures, technology transfer, and licensing agreements
Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Maintain sales pipelines, opportunity tracking, and forecasting reports
- Monitor competitor activities and emerging defense technologies
Required Technical Skills
- Understanding of defense procurement processes, lifecycle management, and acquisition programs.
- Familiarity with defense platforms, systems, and technologies.
- Knowledge of offset policies, ToT, and defense of industrial ecosystems.
Business & Soft Skills
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and align solutions to customer needs.
- Experience in long sales cycles and complex contract structures.
